Accessibility statement of the HH Finna website

This accessibility statement applies to the HH Finna (haaga-helia.finna.fi) website and it was created on 22 September 2020. Accessibility has been evaluated by Haaga-Helia library.

Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences Library is responsible for the accessibility of the materials found on the website. The National Library of Finland is responsible for the accessibility of the user interface.

We are constantly working to improve accessibility of this service.

The accessibility status of the digital service

The website meets the critical accessibility requirements. However, there are some deficiencies listed below.

The digital service contains non-accessible content (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1)

  • Some links do not indicate enough that the link directs to an external website. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.4)
  • The contrast between text or link and background is too low in some pages. (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11)
  • In carousels/slideshows additional text is shown when the cursor is moved to the image. (WCAG 1.4.13)
  • In some pages there are headings (H2) linked to the navigation using anchor elements. This method is not conveying information comprehensively, when using e.g. reading devices. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • There is no breadcrump trail on the site. (WCAG 1.3.1)

There are some videos without subtitles.

We aim to fix these flaws during 2020.
